| WASHINGTON - The Bush administration's seizure of troubled mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is potentially a $200 billion bet that it will help reverse a prolonged housing and credit crisis. "Effectively, the federal government has now become the nation's mortgage lender," he said. "This takes a major financial threat off the table." See the rest of the article here http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080907/ap_on_bi_ge/mortgage_giants_crisis Basically they are saying that the nations largest mortgage company is over 9,674,568,500,000 dollars in debt and we are all supposed to feel safe and secure now. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Just who do they think they are kidding? I was greatly dissapointed as I read on. The article continues Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama issued a statement agreeing that some form of intervention was necessary, and promised, "I will be reviewing the details of the Treasury plan and monitoring its impact to determine whether it achieves the key benchmarks I believe are necessary to address this crisis." Republican presidential nominee John McCain also voiced support while his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, said that Fannie and Freddie "have gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers. The McCain-Palin administration will make them smaller and smarter and more effective for homeowners who need help." I am greatly dissapointed that Palin is already falling into the box of your average Republicrat as so many before her have done. | | |
| So much has happened over the last year that I cannot even begin to explain.
For those who dont know, One year ago today I was in a car accident on my way home from work, that should have killed me. But there is a merciful God who was watching out for me and had His hand of protection around me. in spite of my numerous injuries, only one was 'life threatening' (fractured Spleen) and one more was very dangerous. (B/L bruised Lungs which could have easily developed pneumonia) I was out of work for 2 1/2 months b/c my job as an EMT-B involves lots of heavy lifting and I had a broken collar bone with over 1/2 in of separation between the ends of the bone.
I could go on with more of the year but I don't want to bore you with details that wont make any sense without the parts I'm not going to share.
I do want to thank you all so much for your many prayers, and a special thanks to those of you who stopped by to see me in the Hospital. Special thanks is owed to the McNamee family who came the farthest but yet were the first 'non-blood' family who were there.
There are so many things on my mind, and I am FINALLY getting tired enough to be able to sleep in-spite of the speed at which my mind is running.
May God be glorified, and may I grown and learn even more in this coming year than in the last.
Daniel
